9 December 2017Fondazione Massimo e Sonia Cirulli participates in the exhibition Cieli futuristi, organized on the occasion of the 65th edition of the International Congress on Aviation and Space Medicine, an international conference on the topic of aeronautical and space medicine, set up at the Palazzo dell'Aeronautica in Rome.
The exhibition tackles the encounter between the great Italian avant-garde of Futurism and some founding moments in the history of our aeronautics.
Starting from the exploits of the great Italian aviators of the First World War, such as Francesco Baracca, and continuing with the Atlantic flights conducted by General Italo Balbo, airplanes become the tool through which artists can experience the sensation of flight and bring the experience onto the canvas, as in the case of Ambrosi's painting as they are represented while flying over the skies of Chicago.
