22 June 2019Fondazione Massimo e Sonia Cirulli is taking part in the new exhibition at Museo Salvatore Ferragamo through the loan of two artworks exhibited in San Francisco in occasion of the 1915 Panama Pacific International Exposition.
The exhibition tackles the years Ferragamo spent in California, between 1915 and 1927, when he left the United States and moved back to Italy. Taking cue from his autobiographic narration, the exhibition investigates the little-known reality of this historical phase, which is interesting to understand the Italian emigration to California, the various entrepreneurial activities undertaken by Italians in that area, and the perception of the Italian community on the West Coast.
