The exhibition A forma das ideias: design italiano do pós-guerra (The Form of Ideas: Italian Design in the Postwar Years) illustrates the story of the "Italian know-how" and the birth of the Made in Italy through different kind of materials: posters, photographs, sketches advertising and design objects, by the greatest Italian artists and designers: individuals such as Bruno Munari and Ettore Sottsass, Erberto Carboni and Pininfarina, Gio Ponti and Marco Zanuso, Piero Dorazio and Franco Grignani.
The exhibition also seeks to convey the versatility of Italian know-how through the multifaceted personalities of artists and designers, whose creativity is manifested in products as different as the drawing of the Cisitalia racing car and the patent of the Pavoni coffee machine; in the invention of PR campaigns for Fiat, Pirelli, Campari and Barilla, and in the creation of the true consumer icons: the Lambretta Innocenti, the typewriting Lettera 22 designed by Marcello Nizzoli and the television Algor Brionvega designed by Marco Zanuso.
