Alphonse Mucha

Fondazione Cirulli takes part in the exhibition Alphonse Mucha with the loan of a work by Leonardo Bistolfi.
The project investigates the linguistic innovations of the Bohemian artist and his influence on the development of Art Nouveau in Italy where Leonardo Bistolfi was definitely one of the artists who best understood, elaborated and expressed Mucha's lesson with a personal style. In fact, as for Mucha, in Bistolfi the iconographic theme of dreamy girls is recurring, portrayed with supple and graceful figures, with long flowing hair adorned with floral compositions, which allow him to always keep alive the indissoluble bond with Botticelli's forms.
