24 October 1997The birth of Made in Italy
24 October 2019The exhibition features a selection of works from Fondazione Cirulli's collection and emphasises the key features of futurist aesthetics which derives from a new way of conceiving artistic creation. It overcomes the boundaries of traditional arts creating a very close link between art and life: that is when the concept of "total art" was born.
Universo Futurista explores this new aesthetic concept through the careful selection of paintings, sculptures, design objects, project drawings, photographs and photomontages, advertising posters and autograph documents of all kinds created by futurist artists from 1909 to 1944.
The project does not follow a traditional approach but proposes an exploratory journey through the abundance and multiplicity of materials preserved in the Fondazione's collection. Through the extraordinary variety of works, the exhibition path offers "settings" dedicated to topics dear to futurists such as speed, energy, progress, mechanized man and domestic design.
The exhibition consists of a nucleus of over 200 works in different materials, shapes and sizes created by artists such as Balla, Boccioni, Bonzagni, Bucci, Casarini, Chiattone, D'Albisola, Depero, Diulgheroff, Guerrini, Korompay, Licini, Marchi , Marinetti, Masoero, Munari, Prampolini, Russolo, Schawinsky, Sant'Elia, Sironi, Tato, Thayaht.
